Well we needed to make a short trip to BKK and a cheap and easy way to get there from Pattaya is by bus (I would like to take the old train, Maybe next time). 124 baht for a one way ticket works out much cheaper than driving. The bus going to BKK was good, But the one coming back was an old shaky, Noisy thing with a crazy driver, But we made it in the end.

lifeinthailand says:

Yes

lifeinthailand says:

This bus cost 124 baht and it went from north Pattaya road to Ekami station
in Bangkok, No idea about the Jomtien bus.

lifeinthailand says:

I was in the UK for 7 months a few years ago and I only remember 1 sunny
day…..lol So I understand what your talking about. Enjoy your holiday.

rattanatour&travel says:

Well in3 year you won’t need a bus at all, there well be a high speed train
to pattaya only30minute

lifeinthailand says:

That’s almost 35,000 baht per week(conversion rate is between 49 and 50
baht per 1 GBP. Expensive by local standards but it is big so maybe ok. Is
it called View Talay Villas?

olFaTaLlo says:

lifeinthailand says:

A cheap way to travel for sure, The buses run every 1/2 hour has well so
never long to wait.

WitOfNit says:

I took the van from Pattaya to Bangkok last year which was about 300 baht
because I had luggage. Still better than the taxi’s that were charging
anywhere from 3000 to 5000 baht. One taxi driver said he’d take me to
Bangkok for only 9000 baht! Wow what a great deal!

hartfordlin says:

Is a terminal point Ekamai Bus Station ?

paalyoung says:

Did you become a citizen and how. I am thinking of visiting there some day.

olFaTaLlo says:

so in terms of sunshine i mean is it sunny everyday? I know places can be
hot but purely because of humidity, i’m just really curious as i’ve never
been anywhere in Asia.

lifeinthailand says:

That’s a good deal, I did not know that, Good deal for sure. The AOT Limo
service out of the airport cost me 2600 baht the last time I used it, And
that was there cheap option, First they said 6000 baht. I have been using a
personal taxi the last few years, Same driver every time, Good service,
That works for me.

olFaTaLlo says:

Oh really? Thai food is a food i’m not 100% famailiar with, you know? I
mean i’m opting to try new foods within my time in Pattaya. I’m a healthy
guy so do not want to be eating KFC, McDonalds, Burger King etc everyday..
lol. I also heard Walking Street is extremely busy & very entertaining?
Also, can you tell me what the weather was like today?

olFaTaLlo says:

i’m going to Pattaya in February 2013 .. I was wondering if anyone could
give me a brief explanation of what the weather is like within this month,
i’m just abit curious as it’s my first time & would like to know – thanks :)

lifeinthailand says:

Sunny yes, Turn you red in minutes if you want. Don’t worry its a good
place for a holiday.

GetMeThere1 says:

I think that’s the first bathroom/refrigerator combo I’ve ever seen! Handy!
Great music!

lifeinthailand says:

I do know the area, How much are you paying for villa that big? Does it
have a pool?

lifeinthailand says:

Everything in BKK is big and busy. Right now it is dark, a little wind,
clear skies, A beautiful night.

olFaTaLlo says:

oh really? well i dont think it’s Bang Suay then because it says it’s 5 min
walk to big C & Tesco Lotus. I will find out exactly where it is & let you
know.

olFaTaLlo says:

great! i am staying in a 4 bedroom villa just near the big tesco lotus &
big C. do you know that area?

lifeinthailand says:

Jomtien is nice, Nice beach (Better than Pattaya) and if your new to Thai
food a good place to start is the 2nd level of Tesco’s, Lots of food stalls
in there, Pictures of the food the or sample plates so you have an idea
what your getting. Everything for less than a pound a plate so if you don’t
like it you can get something else.

olFaTaLlo says:

34 deg c? wow that is seriously hot.. lol. it is Pattaya you stay right?

lifeinthailand says:

Like every other time of the years, Its hot….lol Should be little or no
rain, A good time to visit, Enjoy your trip.

lifeinthailand says:

Its about 2 hours if the traffic is good, Its a cheap way to travel if you
have the time.

lifeinthailand says:

Right now it is 49.5 to the pound and Bang Saury is about 30 minutes south
of Pattaya, Its a small fishing village with a beach, Its how Pattaya
started 35 years ago.Nice quiet place but no night life or shopping.

lifeinthailand says:

I can’t stop laughing…..lol Its needed for sure, Don’t see it happening
any time soon though.

mutnutz says:

Brings back memorys when me and the wife did this We had 2 old buses and it
was worse than being on a rollercoaster. Taxi all the time for me now.

lifeinthailand says:

When you get near BKK every thing changes, The traffic can be a real
nightmare. Not a place I want to drive that’s for sure.
